Kristin has practiced exclusively labour and employment law for her entire legal career. She understands that employees are the most important resource for every business, and is passionate about working with employers and employees to manage the employment relationship. â€‹â€‹

Over her career, Kristin has significant experience working with employers in both the private and public sectors and a wide variety of industries. She is pragmatic and solution oriented, and strives to provide practical and business focused advice to her clients. Her goal is always to achieve an outcome which is optimal for her client while also minimizing the time and expense associated with litigation.

Prior to graduating from law school, Kristin spent over a decade working in a variety of front of house hospitality roles in Winnipeg and Toronto. In addition to acquiring knowledge that she continues to use to support her clients in related industries, this experience has proven invaluable during Kristin's legal career. She is personable, highly observant, and thrives in high-pressure situations.

Kristin attended the University of Manitoba Faculty of Law, where she was on the Dean's Honour List, received a Pitblado Scholarship for academic achievement, and was selected to serve as a law clerk at the Manitoba Court of Appeal in her third year. Upon graduation, she articled in Toronto at Hicks Morley Hamilton Stewart Storie LLP, Canada's largest management side labour and employment law firm.

After being called to the bar in Ontario and Manitoba, she returned to Winnipeg and joined the Labour and Employment practice group at Thompson Dorfman Sweatman LLP, where she practiced for eight years. This background allows Kristin to combine the knowledge and experience developed working in the large firm environment with the personalized service and flexibility of a small practice. â€‹

Kristin is a member of the Canadian Association of Counsel to Employers as well as the Association of Workplace Investigators. â€‹In addition to operating Kersey Workplace Law, Kristin also serves as Counsel to the Toronto law firm of Hunter Legal LLP

When not providing labour and employment advice, Kristin can typically be found planning (and attempting to execute) unnecessarily elaborate dinner party menus or getting bossed around by her dog Pepper (aka Pepperoni).
